In the chartplotter cables section, you will find Lowrance and Simrad compatible Ethernet cables with 5-pin connectors in various lengths (1.8m–15.24m with yellow connectors), a NMEA2000 cable (N2EXT-6RD, 1.8m) for connecting to the network, and a cigarette lighter power cable for HDS/ELITE, TI/TI2 and Hook1 series 5–9-inch devices.
An Ethernet cable connects multiple displays or sensors (such as a sonar and radar) to the same network, allowing data and charts to be displayed on all connected displays simultaneously – the correct length is selected based on the installation route, and it is advisable to route an overlong cable neatly without sharp bends to maintain signal quality. When choosing a cable, it is also worth considering the types of Ethernet ports between the devices, as different Lowrance/Simrad model generations use slightly different connector versions – the wrong cable type will not always physically fit, which prevents incorrect installation, but it is still worth checking in advance. The NMEA2000 cable also allows other sensors (for example, a wind or temperature sensor) to be connected to the same bus alongside the chartplotter.
