PVC or Hypalon – How do I know what material my boat is made of?

• Back of the fabric: PVC fabric has the same color on both sides. Hypalon fabric has different colors on the front and back. The back is dark gray or black.
• Sandpaper test: Sand the fabric with sandpaper. Hypalon material becomes dull and dull, leaving a dusty, velvety surface. With PVC, sandpaper leaves scratches and the surface remains shiny, with no discoloration at the sanding point.
