Choosing the right connector and clamp is important for water tightness — the wrong size or material can cause a leak, which at worst will only be noticed after water has entered the hull and caused moisture damage. Always check the material of the connector and clamp according to the application — acid-resistant AISI316 steel is best suited for areas constantly exposed to salt water.
