The Deckvest VITO ASF 170N is a top-class lifejacket designed for offshore sailing, developed in collaboration with Volvo Ocean Race sailors in the world's most demanding conditions. The vest meets all the inspection requirements of the offshore race, and the goal has been to create a vest that professionals really want to wear - lightweight, comfortable and extremely safe.
The new Vito features a completely new Advanced Flotation System (AFS), which places the buoyancy force in just the right place, improving stability, visibility and position in the water. The three-dimensional structure fits tightly against the body and makes the vest comfortable to wear even on long trips.
The vest comes standard with the HRS emergency release system, Pylon™ light and Lume-On™ lighting for improved safety in the dark. The reliable Hammar® hydrostatic release system is activated only by water pressure, and the 170 newton buoyancy ensures excellent support in the water.

Hammar® hydrostatic automatic release system
The Hammar® release system is only activated by water pressure when the life jacket is approximately 10cm below the water surface. The system is ideal for extreme conditions and open sea sailing. The advantage of the Hammar® system is that it is not activated by rain or other water splashes. Delayed release may be due to the life jacket's release mechanism not getting wet properly, for example if there are a lot of floating clothes on the road.
HRS release system
Spinlock's Deckvest VITO AFS lifejackets feature a harness release system (HRS). This system includes a soft loop to which the harness is attached. In an emergency, the user can release themselves from the harness quickly and safely.

What is HRS?
Spinlock still considers the safety belt cutter to be an important piece of equipment. However, a reliable and consistent safety belt quick release mechanism has not yet been developed. Instead, Spinlock has focused on developing a vest safety belt release system. Tests have shown that this system must be:
- Simple to understand
- Easy to use
- Easy to maintain
- Durable and reliable throughout the life of the life jacket
- At the same time, the system must meet the requirements of ISO12402 approval.
Staying attached to the boat is always safer than falling into the water, and the use of a safety harness is strongly recommended. However, if a person falls into the water, they may end up hanging over the side or stern of the boat, which can be a dangerous and difficult situation to control. The HRS system allows for a quick release in such an emergency.

Very high quality and comfortable inflatable lifejackets designed for professional use. MED/SOLAS approved and EN ISO 12401 compliant lifejacket. The unique neck opening design of the Legend model allows the vest to sit more on the shoulders than on the neck, thus allowing excellent mobility even in work use when the vest does not press on the neck. The vest is equipped with two automatic United Moulders release mechanisms. The vest is closed with a zipper that tears open when the vest is inflated and can be closed when repacked. A PVC protective cover or a spark arrester made of metal alloy can be purchased separately over the durable outer shell.
