Star brite® -46°C kausisäilytysneste suojaa halkeamilta -46 °C:seen asti ja jäätymiseltä -9 – -11 °C:n lämpötiloissa. Kun ainetta testataan refraktometrilla, joka on tarkoitettu käytettäväksi propyleeniglykolin kanssa, PG-asteikon jäätymispistelukemat ovat -11 ja -9 °C:n välillä.
