It is a good idea to service your winches at least once before the season. If your boat is in salt water, two services per season are recommended. If you compete hard, it is a good idea to service your winches before every regatta.
Keep winches clean and functioning smoothly by rinsing them frequently with fresh water. Check pawls & springs, bearings, gears and spindles for wear and corrosion.
