In the Caps product group, you will find caps designed for sailing from well-known brands: Muston's Fast Dry Crew model in dark blue, black and platinum, Muston's Fast Dry Corporate version in platinum, and Helly Hansen's Crew Visor 2.0 in white — in addition, the selection includes a separate Muston cap holder that attaches the cap to clothing or a vest with a string.

Sailing caps differ from regular caps due to their material and construction: Fast Dry fabric dries quickly after splashes and does not absorb moisture as heavily as a cotton cap. The adjustable back ensures a tight fit even on windy decks, and the cap does not easily come off your head in a sudden gust — this is an important difference compared to a regular leisure cap, which is designed for land use and not for windy conditions.

A cap holder is a small but practical accessory: it prevents a cap from flying into the sea completely when it is attached with a string to, for example, a life jacket strap. Especially on the open sea and in strong winds, this small detail saves both money and annoyance, as it is almost impossible to get a cap back once it has fallen into the sea.

It’s a good idea to choose a color that matches the rest of your sailing attire — navy and black work well with most combinations, while platinum and white reflect sunlight better and keep your head cooler in hot conditions. The cap also protects your eyes from water reflection, which reduces fatigue on long day trips.

Also remember that sweat and UV exposure will fade the color of your cap over time — rinse your cap lightly with fresh water to remove salt deposits after a long day at the beach. Some models can also be machine washed on a delicate cycle, but always check the product's care instructions before washing to maintain the shape and fabric quality for as long as possible.

It's worth checking the sweatband inside your cap, especially if you're wearing it for long periods of time in hot weather — high-quality, breathable material keeps your forehead more comfortable and doesn't collect sweat as quickly as cheaper fabric.

Also consider getting two caps to alternate between if you sail a lot — this way one will always have time to dry and air out fully while the other is in use, extending the life of both.

Also check the cap's inner lining regularly for wear and tear — it is the part that wears out first during use and directly affects the comfort of the cap over long periods of use.
