It is advisable to regularly inspect and maintain your automatic lifejacket according to the manufacturer's instructions, as cartridges and triggers have a limited lifespan even when the lifejacket has not been used in the water at all. Always check the make, model and cartridge size (most commonly 24 g or 33 g) of your lifejacket before ordering - a cartridge of the wrong size or a different brand may not fire correctly in real life, and the wrong part may even prevent the lifejacket from functioning completely.
