Isopolyester Crystic 489PA

Isopolyester Crystic 489PA is a pre-accelerated and thixotropic isophthalic acid-based polyester, developed specifically for boatbuilding and demanding marine applications. The product has very good properties for preventing so-called bubble disease, which improves the quality and durability of the laminate in the long term.

Polyester has a fast wetting ability of glass fiber and a controlled gel time, making it well suited for normal production. Crystic 489PA is primarily intended for hand lamination, but can also be used in certain spray equipment.

Use and application

Surface preparation

• Clean the surface thoroughly.

• Remove grease, dirt and loose paint

Confusion

• Measure the resin and add the hardener according to the manufacturer's instructions.

• Mix thoroughly to ensure a smooth finish.

Dissemination

• Apply the resin with a sprayer or by hand depending on the size and shape of the object

• Ensure even application and good wetting of the fiberglass

Set

• Allow to cure at the temperature and time specified in the instructions.

• For multi-layer laminations, work in batches to avoid overheating.
