Suzuki fuel filters – model and year-specific selection

In the Suzuki fuel filters product group you will find original low pressure fuel filters for a wide range of Suzuki outboard motors: DF25-70 (all models) and D90-140 (2001–2005), DF4-15 series, DF90-DF140 (2003–2005), DF4A/5A/6A, DF70A-90A (2018–), DF100A-140A, DF150AP-200AP and DF115BG/140BG as well as DF15A/20A and DF25A/30A, DF70A/80A/90A models. Unlike oil filters , these filters clean the fuel before entering the injection system.

The fuel filter removes impurities and water from the petrol before it reaches the injection system or carburettor - a clogged filter can cause jerking, loss of power or engine stalling, especially under load. Suzuki has used several different filter versions depending on the model series and year of production, so the filter should always be checked against the exact model designation and year of the engine.

Replace the fuel filter regularly according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance interval or whenever the engine starts to run unevenly – especially if the boat has been stored for a long time with a full tank or the fuel quality has varied between different refuelings. Check your engine model on the type plate before ordering, as the wrong filter will not fit.

Suzuki has used several different fuel filter versions depending on the model series and production year, so identifying the correct filter often requires not only the exact engine model but also the year of manufacture – for example, the DF70A-90A range has a different filter for engines manufactured before and after 2018. The filter on the larger DF150AP-200AP models differs significantly from the corresponding part on the smaller engines in terms of size and flow capacity.

The low-pressure filter is located in the fuel line before the high-pressure pump, and its job is to protect the more sensitive, expensive parts of the injection system from impurities – this makes the filter a relatively inexpensive but important wear part, the regular replacement of which will save you significantly from more expensive repairs in the long run. Check the exact model designation of your engine on the type plate before ordering.

It is recommended to use a genuine Suzuki filter, especially during the warranty period, as the use of aftermarket parts may in some cases affect the warranty - check the warranty conditions for your specific engine before considering alternative filter brands.

When replacing the filter, it is also a good opportunity to check the general condition of the fuel tank and line, as both maintenance items are related to the same fuel system.

It is a good idea to photograph the part number on the filter's nameplate before removing the old filter so that ordering the correct replacement part is quick in the future.

It is recommended that the filter be replaced at the same time as other seasonal engine maintenance to ensure that the entire fuel system remains reliable throughout the season.
