Volvo Penta has gradually switched to a new type of coolant, Volvo Penta Coolant VCS (yellow) . This coolant contains new inhibitors that are specifically designed for the materials in newer engines .

VCS (yellow) offers even better protection:

• against the formation of deposits

• against cavitation

• against galvanic corrosion

Commissioning in Volvo Penta engines

VCS (yellow) coolant has been introduced in Volvo Penta engines as follows:

• D13 Marine: at the turn of the 2010–2011 model years (D13 EVC-D)

• D16 Marine: week 27 / 2010

• D1, D2, D3: week 19 / 2011

• D4 / D6: week 22 / 2011

Important things to note

• Never mix VCS or VCS-2 coolant (yellow or orange) with Volvo Penta Coolant Green or other coolants.

• Engines designated for VCS or VCS-2 fluid are marked with yellow labels , including a yellow marking surrounding the filler cap.

• In some engines it is possible to change from green coolant to yellow/orange , but in this case the entire cooling system must first be drained and flushed thoroughly .

Coolant Volvo Penta VCS-2 Orange Glycol

Volvo Penta's latest coolant , Volvo Penta Coolant VCS-2 (orange) , has been specially developed for the materials in new engines . The fluid contains modern inhibitors that provide long-lasting and effective protection for the engine cooling system.

VCS-2 protects:

• from the formation of precipitates

• from cavitation

• from galvanic corrosion

Compatibility
