When using natural gas (domestic gas), the alarm must be placed 15–30 cm below the ceiling and no more than 6 meters from the stove or other gas-powered device. When using LPG, the alarm must be placed 15–30 cm above the floor and no more than 4 meters from the stove or other gas-powered device. Recommended locations for the alarm are kitchens, garages, motor homes and caravans.
