Star brite aluminum boat bottom cleaner/restorer is specially formulated to remove dirt, waterline and bottom vegetation from aluminum boats. The product is biodegradable. A special buffer solution makes this product safer to use than many other similar products without compromising on effectiveness.
FOLLOW THE PRODUCT'S INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
Because aluminum oxidizes unevenly, heavily oxidized areas require more aggressive cleaning than lightly oxidized areas. Follow these instructions for best results. Failure to follow these instructions will result in an uneven, streaky, or uneven surface. The product requires further treatment with Aluminum Protective Polish (sold separately).
When using Star brite Aluminium Cleaner & Restorer you must:
ALWAYS apply the product evenly with a scrubbing pad.
ALWAYS rinse thoroughly before the product dries.
ALWAYS follow up with Star brite aluminum boat PTFE polish/wax .
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Before you begin, you will need acid-resistant gloves, safety glasses, Star brite Aluminum Boat Bottom Washer/Restorer, Star brite Medium Scrub Pad (red), Star brite Aluminum Polish, several clean polishing cloths, and water from a hose for rinsing.
Step 1.
To avoid streaks, start at the bottom of the area to be cleaned and work up in small areas at a time. Apply Star brite Aluminum Boat Bottom Cleaner to the surface in even strokes using the fine mist setting on the spray nozzle. The cleaner will foam when it contacts the oxidized area, indicating that it is working.
Step 2.
Use the Star Brite Red Medium Grit Scrubbing Pad to spread the Aluminum Boat Bottom Cleaner into an even, covering layer. Then scrub systematically with even pressure to allow the cleaner to penetrate even the most heavily oxidized areas.
Step 3.
Rinse the cleaned surface thoroughly with clean water. Remember to rinse the surfaces underneath as well. DO NOT allow the cleaner to dry on any surface.
Repeat these steps as needed until the surface is clean. Heavy oxidation may require multiple applications and scrubbing to completely remove. Note that the cleaned surface may still appear uneven until polished.
