Ecopower Prop is a biocide-free spray paint designed for the coating of propellers, propeller devices and trim tabs. This special coating makes it difficult for vegetation to adhere tightly, making it easier to detach and remove during cleaning. Ecopower Prop utilizes advanced binder technology that drives self-renewal throughout the boating season, preventing paint build-up.
Recommended use:
Propellers, propeller devices, trim tabs and traction devices.
Product safety:
Flash point: 35°C [95°F].
VOC content (686 g/L): Meets EU requirements.

Surface preparation:
Clean salts, detergents, impurities and algae growth with high-pressure fresh water.
New construction: Apply Hempel's Light Primer to the prepared surface and then apply Hempel's Underwater Primer while the epoxy is still tacky.
Maintenance and repair:
Old self-polishing or traditional antifouling paint: Remove loose material and other contaminants by cleaning with high-pressure fresh water.
Existing hard antifouling paint or unknown antifouling paint: Clean with high pressure fresh water, wet sand, remove dust.
If the old antifouling is in poor condition, apply one coat of Hempel's Underwater Primer.
If the condition of the old antifouling paint is generally poor, it is recommended to remove the previous layers and re-prime the surface before applying the antifouling paint.
Diffusion:
Cleaning agent: Hempel's Thinner 08080 or Hempel's Thinner 808 08081.
Film thickness, dry: 25 microns [1.0 mils].
Film thickness, wet: 90 microns [3.5 mils].
Theoretical coverage: 11 m²/L [450 sq ft/US gal].
Spray painting can produce a thinner thickness per coat, so apply multiple coats to achieve the specified film thickness.
