Hempel's High Protect II is a solvent-free epoxy paint that provides effective protection against osmosis and repair. Its properties make it an ideal choice for priming fiberglass and steel boats below the waterline.
Features:
Solvent-free anti-osmosis and repair paint.
Easy to apply and forms a durable surface.
Suitable for fiberglass and steel below the waterline.
Run:
45 minutes (at 20°C).
Mixing ratio:
3:2 (Base 35789 : Hardener 95078).
Product safety:
Flash point: 129°C [264°F]
VOC content, mixed product: EU 34 g/L [0.28 lb/US gal]
Surface Preparation:
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.
Unpainted surface: Sand the surface and remove dust.
Steel: Remove salt and other contaminants by cleaning with fresh water. Remove rust and loose material by blast cleaning or wire brushing. Remove dust.
Application method:
Brush/Roller: No thinning.
The product can be applied by spray. Contact Hempel for more information.
Film Thickness: Recommended dry 150 microns [5.9 mils], wet 150 microns [5.9 mils].
Painting conditions:
Surface temperature above 10°C [50°F] during application and curing.
Relative humidity below 85% during drying and curing.
Drying and Overpainting:
Touch dry in 45 minutes (20°C).
The overcoating time depends on the conditions and should be checked as necessary.
Overcoating times:
Topcoat with recommended products such as Hempel's Underwater Primer 26030 or Hempel's Light Primer 45550.
Storage:
Shelf life: Base 36 months, Hardener 24 months.
Store in accordance with local regulations at a maximum temperature of 35°C [95°F], protected from direct sunlight, rain and snow.
Applications:
Fiberglass and steel boats below the waterline.
