Hempel's Multicoat is a one-component, opaque, semi-gloss alkyd primer and topcoat. It forms a durable surface that is weatherproof and has good resistance to water and oil. Suitable for use above the waterline and is also suitable for bilge applications. Minimum application temperature is 5°C.
Recommended use:
On fiberglass, wood and steel surfaces.
For indoor and outdoor use above the waterline.

Surface Preparation:
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.
New construction: Prepare bare surfaces according to Hempel's priming instructions.
Maintenance and Repair:
Previously treated surface: Sand, clean and dry the surface.
Diffusion:
Thinner: Hempel's Thinner 811 08111 or Hempel's Thinner 808 08081.
Application method and tool: Brush, roller or paint pad.
Thinning max. 5% by volume, not relevant.
Film thickness, dry: 40 microns [1.6 mils].
Film thickness, wet: 90 microns [3.5 mils].
Theoretical coverage: 11 m²/L [450 sq ft/US gal].
Painting conditions:
Apply only to a dry and clean surface with a temperature at least 3°C ??[5°F] above the dew point, avoiding condensation.
The relative humidity must be below 85% during drying and curing.
Drying and Overpainting:
Dry to touch hours: 6 (10°C [50°F]), 3 (20°C [68°F]).
Sanding dry hours: 24.
Overpainting: All masking tape used during paint application must be removed while the coating is still wet.
Notes on overpainting:
If the maximum overcoating time has been exceeded, the surface must be roughened to ensure adhesion.
Storage:
Shelf life: 60 months from date of manufacture in unopened original packaging.
Storage conditions: Store in accordance with local regulations, at a temperature of 5°C [41°F], protected from direct sunlight, rain and snow.
