Hempel Underwater Primer is a fast drying underwater primer containing aluminium flakes. It can be used as a sealer over old antifouling or as an adhesion primer over epoxy primed surfaces before applying antifouling.
Recommended use:
Can be used on fiberglass, wood and steel surfaces. Suitable for use in all areas below the waterline including keels.

Purity:
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.
Clean with Hempel Pre-Clean.
New building:
Unpainted surface: Sand the surface and remove dust.
New wood: Impregnate a dry and clean surface with a suitable wood impregnation agent and let dry.
Steel: Remove salt and other contaminants by cleaning with (high pressure) fresh water. Remove all rust and loose material by blast cleaning or wire brushing. Remove dust.
Maintenance and repair:
Previously treated surface: Sand, clean and dry the surface.
Spot paint and sand to achieve a uniform surface profile. For further information, see Hempel's separate Surface Preparation Instructions publication.

Avoid using a film that is too thick to ensure best performance.
Painting conditions:
Apply only to a dry, clean surface that is at least 3°C ??[5°F] above the dew point to avoid condensation.
The relative humidity must be below 85% during drying and curing.
