Hempel Wood Impreg is a clear alkyd oil with excellent penetration properties. It is used to impregnate wood before applying varnish or paint.
Recommended use:
Can be used as a first coat on wood and solid wood surfaces, both indoors and outdoors above the waterline.

Surface Preparation:
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.
New building:
The surface must be dry and clean before application.
The moisture content must be below 16%.
Maintenance and Repair:
Previously treated wood: Remove dust and loose material.
Diffusion:
Thinner: Hempel Thinner 811
Cleaning agent: Hempel Thinner 811
Application method:
Brush: Thinning 20%
Theoretical Yield:
13 m²/L [530 sq ft/US gal]
The spraying speed depends on the surface roughness, porosity and application method.
Painting conditions:
Apply only to a dry, clean surface with a temperature at least 3°C ??[5°F] above the dew point.
Drying and Overpainting:
The relative humidity must be below 85% during drying and curing.
Drying time:
Surface temperature 10°C [50°F]: Touch dry 12 hours.
Surface temperature 20°C [68°F]: Touch dry 6 hours.
Condensation on the freshly applied layer should be avoided.
Other Notes:
Mix well before use.
Depending on the porosity of the wood, apply 2-4 coats wet on wet.
Let the oil absorb into the wood.
Wipe off excess with a lint-free cloth to prevent a film from forming.
Let dry.
Storage:
Shelf life: 60 months from date of manufacture in unopened original packaging.
Store in accordance with local legislation, at a temperature of 5°C [41°F], protected from direct sunlight, rain and snow.
