Raymarine mechanical linear actuators
Mechanical linear actuators are particularly popular in sailboat autopilot systems. Raymarine models offer powerful thrust, fast side-to-side movements, and quiet operation. These units are mounted below deck, where they move the rudder directly by pushing and pulling either the tiller arm or quadrant. The linear actuator is connected to the rudder stock by means of a separate tiller arm. Installation may require additional parts supplied by the steering system manufacturer. It is important that the boat's steering system can also be operated manually, i.e. it must support "back drive".
