PeakPower with MPPT technology offers better efficiency and power. A solar panel system usually consists of 12 V solar panels. Despite the name, a 12 V panel can charge the battery to almost 20 V. A normal controller cuts off charging before the voltage in the battery gets too high. MPPT, which stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking, can optimize charging from the 12 V panel at certain battery voltage levels and thus make maximum use of the energy from the solar panel (up to 30% more efficient).
