Genuine Tohatsu sacrificial anode that is installed in the gear case of compatible outboard motors. The anode protects the engine from galvanic corrosion by corroding instead of the engine parts to be protected.
It is advisable to check the condition of the protective anode regularly and replace it in good time. As a general rule of thumb, the anode should be replaced when about half of its material has corroded.
