MultiPlus-II combines MultiPlus and MultiGrid features in one device. All MultiPlus features plus an optional external current transformer that extends the current capacity of PowerControl and PowerAssist to 100A. All MultiGrid features plus built-in islanding protection and an ever-expanding list of country-specific approvals.
Note: this product was called MultiGrid-II for a while.
MultiPlus-II prevents overloading of a source with limited AC power, such as a generator or shore power connection. In the first stage, the battery charging power is automatically reduced in a situation where the system would otherwise be overloaded. In the second stage, the generator output power or shore power connection power is increased by the power drawn from the battery.
The MultiPlus-II is a key component of the Victron ESS system. It adds flexibility by allowing connection to MPPT Solar Chargers or Grid-tie PV inverters.
In the event of a power failure or if the shore power connection or generator supply is disconnected, the Multi's built-in inverter automatically activates and begins supplying power to the connected loads. This switching occurs so quickly (in less than 20 ms) that computers and other electronic devices continue to operate without interruption.
You can monitor and control your Multi and system(s) locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world using the free VRM app and free VRM portal. Remote control is possible via smartphone, tablet or PC (various operating system options). There are countless control options using the Color Control GX or Venus GX, which allow you to set the Multi to start automatically, to ensure generator operation, etc.
