In the Rope Guides section you will find ring shoes and other fittings that guide the direction of the rope through which the rope passes without a separate rotating roller – the selection includes, for example, Rutgerson aluminum ring shoes in several diameters (10x7mm–25x17mm) and similar models from Harken (8mm and 10mm). A ring shoe differs from a block in that it does not have a rotating wheel – the rope simply slides through the ring, which makes it a simpler and lighter solution for places where the angle change is small and a large reduction in friction is not needed.

The correct size is chosen according to the thickness of the rope being used – a ring that is too narrow will wear out the rope and slow down its sliding, while an oversized ring will not guide the rope accurately.
