In the Fuses and Fuse Holders section you will find the components needed to protect your boat's electrical system: Pro Supply's automatic fuses with various amperage ratings (25A, 30A, 40A, 50A), BEP's Pro Installer fuse holder (750A) and Pro Supply's Mega fuse holder. A properly sized fuse protects the boat's wiring and equipment in the event of a short circuit or overload — a fuse with too high an amperage rating will not trip in time and can lead to overheating of the wires or even a fire. The amperage rating of the fuse should always be sized according to both the power consumption of the device being protected and the cross-sectional area of ??the wire used — the thicker the cable, the larger the fuse it can usually withstand, but the device's own current requirement is always the primary sizing criterion.
