Rope locks and guides

In the Rope Locks and Guides section you will find the locks and guides needed to manage the trim lines of a sailboat: traditional rope locks, rope guides for locks, scooter feet and platforms with locks, rope locks with guides and riser pieces for adjusting the installation angle. The selection includes, for example, Wichard's Gyb'Easy boom brake and Clamcleat's Inline rope locks and double locks for different rope thicknesses (6–12mm).

A rope lock allows you to keep a trim rope (for example, a keel, a jib or a boom) taut without constantly holding it by hand – the rope locks in place when pulled and is released when the rope is pulled upwards or sideways from the lock. A boom brake, on the other hand, curbs uncontrolled swinging of the boom during jibing, which improves safety, especially when sailing in stronger winds. Explore the subgroups to find the lock that is suitable for your boat's rope thickness and intended use.

The Wichard Gyb'Easy boom brake is particularly recommended for sailboats that often sail in stronger winds, as uncontrolled boom swing is one of the most common causes of injuries on deck. The rope thickness of the Clamcleat brand Inline locks (6–12mm) should correspond exactly to the rope being used – a too loose fit will weaken the lock's grip, while a too tight fit can make it difficult to release the rope quickly when needed.
