Plastic Padding fiberglass batt

Plastic Padding fiberglass batting is an effective and fast-curing repair compound for filling large holes and cracks in fiberglass and metal. The product hardens quickly, in approximately 20–30 minutes at a temperature of +20 C, and is excellent for demanding repair work.

The fiberglass reinforced base coat creates a very durable and sturdy finish. It is an ideal choice for repairing boat hulls, fiberglass bodies and other high-strength applications. The product can also be used to repair large holes and dents in car bodies. Excellent adhesion to metal, wood and hard plastic.

Instructions

Preparation

• Sand the surface to be repaired carefully.

• Remove rust and paint completely

Dosage

• Mix a quantity of putty about the size of a golf ball, i.e. approximately 40 ml.

• Add 3–4 cm of hardener, or approximately 2–4 percent.

• Mix thoroughly until smooth and free of air bubbles.

• Use protective gloves and goggles.

• Close the packages immediately after dispensing.

Dissemination

• Spread with a steel trowel so that the compound penetrates the sanding patterns.

• Fill to desired thickness, maximum 5 mm

• Let it harden and roughen with sandpaper grit 80–120.

• The best working temperature is around +20 C.

Curing time

• Approximately 20–30 minutes at +20 C

Purifying

• Clean tools with ethyl acetate immediately after use

Things to note

• Grease, oil and silicone prevent the product from sticking

• Steel, aluminum and galvanized steel must be sanded and degreased before application.
