The impeller should be replaced regularly according to the engine manual. The impeller wears out with use and can dry out over time. A poor-quality impeller can prevent the engine from cooling properly, which can lead to overheating.
The engine's cooling water outlet (monitoring jet) can give an indication of the condition of the impeller. The jet should be clear and even, not dripping. If the jet is weak, first try cleaning the jet opening with, for example, a thin steel wire. However, the impeller should always be replaced according to the engine's maintenance instructions.
