An efficient winch designed to handle line without filling the whole drum. The drum and self-tailing groove are built to make recovering sheet slack easy. The line runs out smoothly and safely, and the drum performs reliably even in extreme conditions.

ART — Asymmetric Rib Technology: Selden's manual winch drums are forged, machined and hard-anodised aluminium with vertical ribs spaced asymmetrically relative to each other. With symmetrical spacing the line would leave the drum in jerks; the asymmetric spacing gives good grip and a smooth, even payout.

The spring-loaded self-tailing function holds the line securely without jamming, and the handle can already be in place when you take up slack — no time wasted looking for it during a tack or gybe.
