The DF20A is the world’s first 14.7 kW outboard motor to feature a battery-less fuel injection system. This makes the motors quick and easy to start, and clean and fuel-efficient. With the latest in design, the new DF20A outboard motors are the most technically advanced portable outboard motors on the market. The DF20 is also the world’s first 20 hp outboard motor designed to use Lean Burn technology and battery-less fuel injection.
Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control System was first introduced on the DF90/80/70 models. The Lean Burn Control System is an intelligent system that monitors engine operation and operating conditions to predict fuel demand, allowing the engine to operate on a leaner fuel mixture. The system significantly improves fuel economy throughout the engine’s operating range. The system provides boaters with superior fuel economy at all engine speeds.
Easy Start recoil starter: While fuel injection makes starting easier, the DF20A engine was also designed with a starter that is very easy to use and requires less force to pull.
