The new, improved DF80 model features a digital, intermittent injection system, a final drive ratio of 2.59:1 and an automatically adjusting camshaft drive that requires no maintenance.
The modern 4T engine features an impressive driveshaft system, which, together with the modern engine block, makes the new generation of outboard motors a class smaller and lighter.
Packed with innovative features, including the groundbreaking Lean Burn management system, our lightweight DF70A/80A/90A outboards are small in size but big on performance.
Suzuki Lean Burn Control system:
Suzuki developed a Lean Burn control system for these mid-range engines, which controls the air-fuel mixture according to operating conditions. The system significantly improves fuel economy across the entire operating range, from low speeds to brisk cruising speeds.
Self-adjusting timing chain:
The timing chain runs in an oil bath on all models in this size range, so it doesn't need to be lubricated, and an automatic hydraulic tensioner always keeps the chain at the right tension. Simple, reliable and maintenance-free.
Suzuki Keyless system:
A keyless start system that acts as an immobilizer to prevent theft.
