Victron Energy SmallBMS NG is an advanced battery management system (BMS) specifically designed to protect and monitor Victron Lithium NG batteries (note: not compatible with Lithium Smart batteries). It provides reliable protection for lithium batteries by managing charging and load disconnections, and providing early warnings of low battery voltage.

SmallBMS NG is a simple and cost-effective alternative to the VE.Bus BMS NG system for applications where integrated control of Victron inverters or chargers is not required. It does not include a VE.Bus bus and is therefore not recommended for use with VE.Bus MultiPlus or Quattro inverters.

The product is easily connected via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app, through which all battery information — such as charge level, current and alarms — is clearly visible without a separate SmartShunt device.

Batteries can be connected in series, parallel or a combination of the two and SmallBMS NG supports 12 V, 24 V and 48 V systems. Up to 50 batteries can be connected to the system in 12 V or 24 V groups and 25 batteries in 48 V groups, enabling large energy storage.

Batteries can be connected in series, parallel or a combination of the two, allowing for the construction of efficient 12 V, 24 V and 48 V systems:

• Up to 192 kWh in 12 V system

• Up to 384 kWh in a 24 V system

• Up to 128 kWh in a 48 V system

SmallBMS NG is an ideal solution for the electrical protection and monitoring of lithium batteries in applications such as recreational vehicles, boats and off-grid systems where VE.Bus integration is not required.

The Smartshunt 300A IP65 is a battery monitor that uses your phone as a display instead of an integrated screen. The Smartshunt connects to the VictronConnect app on your phone or tablet via Bluetooth, allowing you to check all monitored battery parameters such as charge status, remaining time, history data and more.

Smartshunt 300A IP65 can also be connected and read via a GX device. Connection to the Smartshunt is easy with a VE.Direct cable.
The Smartshunt is an excellent alternative to the BMV battery monitor, especially in systems where battery monitoring is required but where you want to reduce cables and clutter. It is equipped with Bluetooth, a VE.Direct port and a connection that can be used to monitor a second battery, a midpoint monitor or a temperature sensor.

SmartShunt is a versatile battery monitor that doesn't have its own display, as your phone acts as the display. SmartShunt connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect App installed on your phone (or tablet). You can conveniently read all the variables you want to monitor, such as battery charge status, available charge (time remaining at current power consumption), historical data and much more.
Alternatively, you can connect the SmartShunt to the GX device and read the data on its display. The connection between the SmartShunt and the GX device is made using the VE.Direct cable.

SmartShunt is a good alternative to the BMV battery monitor, especially in systems where a battery monitor is needed but you want to avoid extra cabling. SmartShunt is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, VE.Direct bus and a connection that can be used for monitoring a second battery, center point monitoring or to which it is possible to connect a temperature sensor.

Victron smallBMS is a universal battery management system (BMS) for your Victron Energy Lithium Battery Smart batteries. These batteries are lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, available in 12.8V or 25.6V voltages and different capacities. The batteries can be connected in series, parallel or series/parallel, allowing you to create a battery bank for a 12V, 24V or 48V system voltage. Up to 20 batteries can be connected to the system, allowing up to 84kWh of energy storage in a 12V system and up to 102kWh in 24V¹ and 48V¹ systems.

Features:
Load Break: Can be used as a remote controlled connection for BatteryProtect, inverter, DC-DC converter or other loads with a remote controlled port. Max. output 1 A, so it can even control a high current relay.
Pre-alarm output: Used to provide a visual or audible warning when the battery voltage has dropped, and is activated with a delay of at least 30 seconds before load shedding is deactivated.
Charge Cutoff: Can be used as a remote controlled switch for a charger such as the Phoenix Smart Charger IP43, Cyrix-Li-Charge relay or BatteryProtect. This output is normally high and flows freely if there is a threat of overvoltage or temperature risk to the battery.
Remote terminal: Both load and charge disconnection can be controlled via the remote terminal. When it is off, both outputs are free flowing.
LED Indicators: SmallBMS has two LED indicators. The blue LED indicates that the charge cut-off output is high and the battery voltage exceeds the set limit. The red LED indicates that the charge cut-off is low due to high/low temperature or battery voltage.

¹ We recommend using as few different batteries in series as possible to keep balancing time short. 24V systems work best with 24V batteries, and 48V systems work best with two 24V batteries in series. Four 12V batteries in series will also work, but will require more balancing time.

The Victron VE.Bus BMS V2 is the next generation of the Victron Energy Battery Management System (BMS) designed for Lithium Battery Smart batteries. These lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are available in 12.8V or 25.6V voltages and offer a range of capacities. The batteries can be connected in series, parallel or a combination of both, creating battery banks for system voltages of 12V, 24V or 48V. The system can contain up to 20 batteries, allowing up to 84kWh of energy storage in a 12V system and up to 102kWh in a 24V¹ and 48V¹ system.

Protection and Surveillance
BMS V2 is designed to work with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers with VE.Bus communication. It protects each individual cell in Lithium Battery Smart batteries by monitoring them for overload, undervoltage and temperature issues.
Cell voltage monitoring and balancing: The BMS communicates the battery status via two BMS cables with M8 connectors. In multi-battery systems, the BMS cables are connected in series.
Proactive alarm: Generates a warning for nearby cell undervoltage.
Load disconnection: The inverter and other loads are interrupted when a cell undervoltage occurs.

Communication and Guidance
VE.Bus communication: The BMS V2 is connected to the MultiPlus and Quattro inverters via an RJ45 UTP cable. It stops the inverter operation in case of cell undervoltage and stops charging in case of cell overvoltage or temperature problems.
Remote control: GX devices (such as Cerbo GX), Digital Multi Control panels or VE.Bus Smart dongles can be connected for remote control to control the inverter or inverter/charger cut-off mode (on/off for charger only).

Smart Battery Protect protects the battery(ies) from being discharged. It detects when the voltage reaches a critical level (adjustable) and switches off unnecessary loads.
