Victron Energy SmallBMS NG is an advanced battery management system (BMS) specifically designed to protect and monitor Victron Lithium NG batteries (note: not compatible with Lithium Smart batteries). It provides reliable protection for lithium batteries by managing charging and load disconnections, and providing early warnings of low battery voltage.
SmallBMS NG is a simple and cost-effective alternative to the VE.Bus BMS NG system for applications where integrated control of Victron inverters or chargers is not required. It does not include a VE.Bus bus and is therefore not recommended for use with VE.Bus MultiPlus or Quattro inverters.
The product is easily connected via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app, through which all battery information — such as charge level, current and alarms — is clearly visible without a separate SmartShunt device.
Batteries can be connected in series, parallel or a combination of the two and SmallBMS NG supports 12 V, 24 V and 48 V systems. Up to 50 batteries can be connected to the system in 12 V or 24 V groups and 25 batteries in 48 V groups, enabling large energy storage.

Up to 192 kWh in 12 V system
Up to 384 kWh in a 24 V system
Up to 128 kWh in a 48 V system
