Boat varnishes

A good varnish should enhance and protect the natural beauty of the wood. Most wood varnishes are designed to protect against man-made damage such as oil, detergent and alcohol spills. However, varnishes designed for boats and yachts must also protect against the elements of nature: wind, rain and the sun's UV rays, which weaken exposed surfaces. The color pigments in paint products provide some protection. However, the color pigments in clear varnishes do not. However, clear varnishes do not contain pigments. Wood treatment products and boat varnishes provide additional protection in other ways.

Epifanes clear varnish is a traditional, very high-gloss 1-K varnish. The product contains Tung oil. Epifanes clear varnish is UV- and wear-resistant. The product can also be used on top of old 1-K and 2-K varnish layers. The product is also very suitable for home use, for example on the terrace.

Dura-Gloss Varnish is a fast-drying, full-gloss, urethane-modified alkyd varnish that makes the surface both hard and flexible. SURFACE PREPARATION:

• Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.
• New construction: Unpainted surface: Sand the surface and remove dust. - New wood: Impregnate the dry and clean surface with a suitable wood impregnation agent and allow to dry. - Plywood: Seal the dry and clean surface with a suitable wood pore varnish. - Teak: Degrease the surface with a suitable degreaser. - The surface must be dry and clean before application. - The moisture content must be below 16%. Maintenance and repair - Previously treated surface: Sand, clean and dry the surface. - Previously damaged varnished wood: Treatment of the wood may be necessary
